Kelly Wighton

“Collaborating with non-profits towards a healthy and thriving community is the most fulfilling work I could hope for. The people who benefit from the impact of the organizations we serve are in the forefront of the effort I bring to my service, making your mission, my mission, too. The goodness and passion of the people we work with is inspiring, and is why I am so glad to be a part of this team.”

Kelly is a compassionate and thoughtful member of the Phil team and has always been interested in how Canadian communities flourish when brought together to advance positive change across the nation. She believes communications experts serve a powerful role in ensuring change-makers can get from vision to impact, influenced by the compelling story of an organization and its projects. At Phil, Kelly contributes critical content to influence how these stories are told.

After graduating from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Child and Family Studies, Kelly now studies Public Relations through the Chang School at Ryerson University. Determined to have a positive impact on people, communities, and the world, Kelly founded the University of Guelph Red Cross group. Her experience with the Red Cross spans over five years, and she is also a volunteer with the TEDx community and the Canadian Cancer Society.
